Embankment stones made of concrete - laying & prices

Embankment stones are available in many variants. They can be rectangular or round, but with trapezoidal stones you can also create beautiful round or curved shapes.
Slope attachment with embankment stones
There are many different types of concrete embankment stones, which are especially popular and therefore often used are the round stones, which can also be planted after installation. They are hollow inside and have a groove on one side, through which they are pushed into each other.
  • In order to secure a slope with such plant stones, a foundation is needed in which the first row of stones is placed. For this purpose, the soil at the foot of the embankment is removed about half to one meter and filled with gravel or gravel.
  • The top layer is concrete, the thickness of which should be at least ten centimeters. In the still wet concrete then the bottom row of embankment stones is set, which is firmly connected after curing of the concrete with this and therefore not more
    can slip.
  • On this row can then be set to the upper end of the embankment more rows of planters.
Such embankment stones
can be equipped with different plants, depending on their taste, but they should not be completely filled with soil, otherwise they could be damaged at minus temperatures. It is better to fill the lower area with sand or gravel and only the upper part with potting soil. As protection against the frost, a gap of half a meter or more should be filled with frost-proof materials such as gravel between the plant stones and the embankment.
Laying embankment stones on a staircase
To surround a staircase that leads up an embankment, round palisades can be used at different heights. Also, they often have on one side a Kehlung, through which they are pushed together and get a good stability. Such round palisades are made of concrete, have a diameter of about 20 centimeters and are sold in different heights. To make them stable, the palisades should be embedded in concrete about one quarter of their height.
Prices for embankment stones
Depending on their size and design, embankment stones only cost about two to three euros per piece. They are produced in a length of 30 to 50 centimeters and often have a height of about 20 to 40 centimeters. With such stones, therefore, slightly larger walls can be produced inexpensively for slope attachment. However, the cost of possibly planned planting of the wall, which, depending on the choice of plants, causes different levels of costs, must be added.
