Insulate base plate and mask off

The sole plate, also known as a slab foundation, represents an alternative to the proven single or strip foundations.
It is always used when the building loads are very high or the load-bearing ground consists of different floors.
But even if the building load is quite low, it may be useful to choose a base slab of foundation, as this is often cheaper and easier to install.
The advantage of the sole plate is that the construction load is distributed over the entire plate. The soil pressure is thus significantly reduced, one compares the same with the single or strip foundation.
Covers and reinforcements of the base plate
In order for the soleplate to be able to meet all requirements properly, it is necessary to equip it with reinforcement on both the bottom and the top. Since the sides of the soleplate often protrude beyond the walls, it is important to apply a clean layer before concreting the panel.
This cover can either be made with lean concrete or with a solid PE film, which is inserted into the plate. Through this cover manages that
the reinforcement does not shift and the concrete slab does not mix with the concrete when concreting.
In the construction of residential buildings, the installation of a sole plate, usually made of steel fiber concrete, has become increasingly popular in recent years. The reason for this are the price advantages compared to classic reinforced concrete slabs, but also
the easier production of the base plates.
Insulation of the base plate
In the insulation of the sole plate is basically divided into three types, which are referred to as black, brown or white tub. In the black tub, a skin seal is laid, but only one-sided. In order for a black tub to actually run correctly, optimum weathering is essential. In wet or rainy weather this form of insulation can not be performed.
The brown tub provides an insulation with Betonit, but is now hardly found in housing. In the white tub, the insulation is done using WU concrete, ie impermeable concrete. As a rule, the blast furnace cement is used for this purpose, which turns quite bright, from which the name white tub diverts.
