After the festive Sunday roast usually one should not be missing: the digestive herbal liqueur. With this recipe you can easily make it yourself.
A herbal liqueur is often drunk after the meal to stimulate digestion and to counteract the feeling of fullness. For this to succeed, it need not even be an expensive drop from the store. A simple homemade herbal liqueur does it too. The great thing about it: make the herbal liqueur yourself, you can fully prepare it to your taste. And besides: herbal liqueur is a great homemade gift from the garden.

Of course, to make a herbal liqueur, you need an alcoholic base. This can be, for example, vodka or grain.
In addition, you then have to decide which herbs should come later in the liqueur. In principle, you can put the herbs together according to your own taste. It should be two grams per herb - either dried or fresh. Ideal herbs for the liqueur are, for example, rosemary, sage, oregano, mint, thyme, basil and chamomile.

How to make herbal liqueur yourself

Once all the ingredients have been put together, all you have to do is close the container tightly and let the mixture soak in a warm place for about four to six weeks. During this time, it is important that you thoroughly stir the mixture daily or shake the jar well.

After four to six weeks, you only need to pour the liquid through a fine sieve and then pour the finished herb liqueur into a dark glass bottle. For refining, you can then add star anise, allspice, honey or agave syrup.
By the way: Since the alcohol content of the herbal liqueur is very high, you can store it without problems for a few years.
