Panning is easy

Peaches are among the most popular types of fruit, because on the one hand they taste very good and on the other hand they can also be planted in the garden. Unfortunately, they are not very durable when harvested. Especially if they have bruises, they quickly turn brown and begin to rot. That is why it is good to know how to preserve the fruits. One possibility would be e.g. the canning. But the peaches must be perfect when buying but so have no pressure points. Then the peaches are great to put in and keep for a longer time.

You can of course also conjure up other delicacies from the fruits. For example, peach sorbet or peach smoothies. However, you will have to consume them right away. On the other hand, you have preserved some of the delicious fruits for longer.

How to properly insert peaches


  • 8 fresh peaches
  • 2 to 3 liters of water
  • 400 g of sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • a bit of salt
  • cloves
  • Mason jars with closure


First of all, wash and peel the fruits carefully. This in turn can be made easier if you scrape the bowl crosswise and then pour hot water over the peaches. If you then cold-kill them, then the shell can be easily removed. Then halve and free from the stones.

2To get the peaches in, you need a suitable liquid. Bring the water to a boil and then add the pinch of salt, sugar and vanilla sugar. Then remove the pot from the cooking area and wait until the sugar has completely dissolved in the water.

Now spread the peach halves evenly over the preserving jars and add one more clove each. Then fill in the hot liquid so that the fruits are completely covered with it. Now wipe the rim of the preserving jars with a clean cloth and close them tightly.

4After you put the peaches in the brew, you have to boil them down. This is possible in the pressure cooker or in the oven. Just put the filled glasses in the pot and add water. The water should stand so high that it closes with the liquid in the preserving jars. Then you need to cook the peaches at a temperature of 75 degrees for about 30 minutes.

You can also cook the peaches in the oven. To do this, fill a baking tray with water about 2 cm high and place the glasses on top. Make sure that they do not touch each other. Then push the tray into the bottom shelf of the oven and heat the oven to 175° C. Then keep an eye on the glasses. As soon as air bubbles rise, you have to turn off the oven. Then the glasses have to remain in the closed oven for another 30 minutes.

Now take the glasses out of the oven, turn them upside down and let them stand for at least two hours. Once the fruit has cooled down, you only need to store it in a cool, dark place. So they can be stored and enjoyed for several months.
