Barbecuing is one of the favorite pastimes of the Germans. But it does not always have meat on the grate. Very delicious are e.g. also grilled peaches.
Sausages and steaks can indeed put everyone on the grill. With a barbecue, you can finally cook much more. For example delicious desserts. After all, not only grilled vegetables are a delicacy - many types of fruit can be prepared in this way.
How about grilled peach, for example? You can either make it completely sweet or really hearty. Of course, you can just put the peach halves on the grill without any further ingredients. However, they taste a lot better if they are a little bit more refined. Just try our recipes and see for yourself.
But one thing to remember: It is important that you always use peaches for grilling, which are ripe but not too soft. If you use canned peaches, you must drain them well before use.
❖ Recipe 1 - the classic variant:
- 4 peaches
- neutral oil
Of course, peaches can always be prepared on the grill without much frills. Simply place aluminum foil or an aluminum grill bowl on the grid and then oil well. Best with a neutral oil such as corn oil. In addition, you can still melt some butter on it, because that further refines the taste.
Peel the fresh peaches, cut in half and free from the seeds. Then lay on the grid. You can either grill the peaches open or you can wrap the foil in a packet and let the peaches cook on the grill for 15 minutes. Thats all.
If you want, you can still refine the peaches with a little orange or lemon juice and honey. Even a dash of orange liqueur or rum fit perfectly.
❖ Recipe 2 - the sweet variant:
- 4 peaches
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 2 tbsp rum
- 2 tbsp almondshit
- 8 cocktail cherries
First of all, dip the fresh peaches in hot water for a while so that they peel easier. Halve after peeling and remove the seeds. Reading tip: multiply peaches with their own seeds.
Then sprinkle the peach halves from the inside with a little lemon juice and let them steep for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, mix the melted butter and honey in a small bowl.
Lay aluminum foil on the grill and spread the peaches on it. Then leave the peaches on the grill until they turn slightly brown. Then turn to the other side. In between, the fruit over and over again with the honey-butter mixture.
When the peaches have finished grilling, place the halves with the curl facing down on a plate. In the hollows then come ever a cocktail cherry. Then spread some rum and almonds over it. Vanilla ice cream and whipped cream are also very good.
❖ Recipe 3 - the savory variant:
- 6 stems of thyme
- 1 clove of garlic
- 120 g goat soft cheese
- 1 cup (250 g) sour cream
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 3 teaspoons olive oil
- fresh peaches or 1 tin (850 ml) peach halves
- 1 - 2 teaspoons of pink pepper berries
First of all, wash the thyme and remove the leaves from the stems. Then finely chop the leaves. Peel the garlic clove and also mince it. The goat's cheese is best cut into small cubes.
Mix the sour cream with the lemon juice, the olive oil, the thyme, the garlic and the goat's cheese to a smooth cream and season with salt and pepper. Peel the peaches and cut in half. On the other hand, drain peaches from the tin well.
Grill the halves for about three minutes on the cut surface. Then pour the goat's cheese cream into a piping bag and then place a blob into the peach halves.
Then place the peach halves in an ovenproof baking dish and gratinate them in the oven for four minutes.
