What few, however, know is that the pods also make a tasty soup. It usually tastes fruity-spicy and is just right for those who like to cook it uncomplicated. Cooking a paprika soup is child's play. These three delicious recipes prove it.

Recipe # 1 - Quick Pepper Soup:


  • 500 gr mixed peppers
  • 1 big onion
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 500 ml creme fraiche
  • 500 ml vegetable stock
  • olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • something balsamic


First, peel and chop the pepper and the onion. Then put everything together in a saucepan and fry in the olive oil for about five minutes. Already now you have to salt the vegetables a bit. Then you have to quench the whole thing with the vegetable stock. Now comes the garlic. Now the soup must simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes with the lid closed.

Once everything has cooked softly, stir in the creme fraiche and finely puree the soup using the hand blender. Now you just have to heat them up again and season with salt, pepper and balsamic vinegar.

Recipe # 2 - Yellow Pepper Soup:


  • 500 grams of yellow peppers
  • 450 ml vegetable broth
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 ml of cream
  • 1/2 tbsp curry powder
  • 1 onion
  • salt and pepper
  • some creme fraiche


Peel the onion and cut into small strips. Then clean the peppers and cut into cubes. Then heat the oil and fry the onion and the diced peppers. Then dust everything with the curry powder and fill up with the cream and the vegetable broth. The soup then has to cook for about 20 minutes.

When the 20 minutes are over, you must purée the soup and pass it through a sieve. Finally, season with salt, pepper and, if desired, with some creme fraiche. Finished!

Recipe No. 3 - Pepper soup with scampi:


for the marinade:

  • 4 prepared ready to scampi
  • 50 ml of olive oil
  • 1 pressed garlic clove
  • chopped herbs of your choice

for the soup:

  • 50 grams of butter
  • 350 gr yellow / red peppers (small cut)
  • 25 g spring onions (cut into small rings)
  • 750 ml chicken broth
  • 1 chopped garlic clove
  • 1/4 finely chopped chili pepper
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 250 ml of cream
  • salt and pepper


First mix the marinade ingredients carefully so you can marinate the scampi for at least one hour. In the meantime, heat the butter for the soup and add the remaining ingredients except the cream. Then simmer until the pieces of pepper have softened. Then add the cream and simmer for another ten minutes. Then you can puree the soup and season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar.

When the soup is ready, put the marinated scampi in a pan and fry it quickly in the oil of the marinade. Then put on wooden skewers, arrange the soup and put the skewers over it.
