Quick Cement - Price, Processing & Drying Time

Quick Cement is a type of cement characterized by its fast setting. This means that it is dry very quickly.
A mortar made from quick-setting cement usually only has a processing time of two to three minutes. After only five to seven minutes, the mortar solidifies. However, not only are such types of quick cement part of this building material category. All Cement types that have a pot life of less than an hour are called fast cements. Despite its time advantage, quick cement is a reasonably priced building material: For 12 kilograms one has to expect a price of around 20 euros.
Fields of application of quick cement
Rapid cement is mainly used in repairs or in buildings where a fast loading capacity is important, as is the case when cementing a dowel. Do-it-yourselfers usually use quick-setting cement where short setting times are just as important as water and weather resistance and high load-bearing capacity.
Furthermore, quick cements with a setting time
from a good half hour also used in screed renovation.
So the floor can be re-entered the next day, further processed and used normally.
In professional construction, quick-setting cement is rarely used. This is simply due to the fact that a setting time
of a good half hour in regular operation on a construction site is not enough. Especially when it comes to a major construction site. In addition, quick-setting cement has not as high a load capacity as it does with normal cement - from which concrete is also produced.
Processing of quick cement
Quick cement is simply mixed according to the manufacturer's instructions and must then be installed immediately due to the rapid drying. Since usually minor repairs are carried out with it, a small plaster cup and a spatula are sufficient as a required tool. The quick cement is simply applied to the area to be repaired and smoothed out quickly.
If a hole in the wall to be repaired with quick cement, this mass is simply pressed into the hole and also smoothed. If the smoothing with the spatula is not quite as good, you can also work with water and a brush. However, a very fast work is required here.
