Rhubarb - harvest time from April to June
The rhubarb stakes grow on a tuber directly in the ground. They are harvested from April to the end of June. The strong red rods are twisted out directly at the tuber with a jerk. This should be done every two to three weeks. Be sure to leave at least two-thirds of the stems and leaves at all times. However, flowers are cut off, as they cost the plant unnecessary strength and so the rhubarb stalks are not so strong.
Do not leave rhubarb too long
The freshly harvested rhubarb stays in the fridge for a few days, but should be processed in a timely manner, as storage that is too long may cause the stems to dry out. And just the juicy is so special about the vegetables.
