Create your own little oasis of relaxation in your home by building yourself a cheerful bubbling room fountain. In addition to their beneficial effects, indoor fountains have the advantage that they filter dust from the air and at the same time increase the humidity in the rooms. This is a welcome side-effect, especially in winter, as the humidity in the rooms is usually too low due to the dry heating air, which in turn promotes infectious diseases. So that the room well also visually fits in the picture, it should correspond to your personal taste. However, as the indoor fountain does not often do that, you can easily build your "dream fountain" yourself

The first steps

Which materials do you want to use? Are you more the type of wood and gravel or would you rather have a bubbling stone? Note: Depending on the structure and material, the water sounds are also different. In the next step you determine how you want to build the room well: Which holes need to be drilled? How do you attach the individual elements? Where are the hoses laid and the pump installed? You can get some inspiration in retailing - also to find out which ideas are feasible.

The construction of a room well

For each well, you need a fountain, a well that covers the substructure, a pump guard, a pump, and a well object from which the water gushes out. Anyone who plans a little more space can additionally attach a fountain attachment or a mist. Incidentally, the size or depth of your room well also determines which pump size and performance you need. Let us advise you best in the specialized trade.
When you have all the materials together, you can start building your indoor fountain: set the pump to the lowest level (otherwise it will be a fountain!) And position the pump in the designated well box. Place the pump guard of your choice over it. Most models should not rest directly on the pump, but be attached to the edge of the well vessel, otherwise there will be disturbing vibration noises. If a cover plate is not directly on the edge of the vessel, it must be additionally stabilized. Then the source object can be attached. Finally, the pump protection is still laminated with the wells. Now the water can be filled in and last decorative elements draped. According to this principle, the most diverse room fountains can be easily built by yourself.

If you have opted for a so-called ball well, a stone fountain with water bubbling out of a top opening, you will need: a water pump, a bowl of water, a stone and a good stone bur. Be sure to drill the hole in the stone big enough for the water hose or water pipe of the pump. Otherwise, you can let your creativity flow when designing.

Indoor fountains are often designed in Asian design. Our example is based on a simple water cycle inside. The base lies in the water tank and is completely invisible thanks to the white stones. The water is pumped through a small bamboo fountain. Outside you can distribute various Asian decoration elements according to your wishes.
Tip: If you want to integrate plants in your indoor well, you need to create a second water circuit and separate pools. In the so-called two-circuiters, one water circuit contains clear water that flows through the pump and the well, while the other contains a nourishing solution intended exclusively for planting. These should not mix.
