Pit infiltration - calculation, design, construction

Reptile infiltration is also an underground type of infiltration. It is even suitable for a poorly drained soil, but the rigging should be combined with a throttled drainage.
Care should be taken during the infiltration of the trench to take in all the water from the runoff. For this, first of all, it is necessary to determine the percolating surface to be treated, which results from the base area of the trench, that is, from its width and length. The rating of the trench infiltration is based on the worksheet ATV 138.
Calculation of the trench infiltration
First of all, some factors have to be considered for the infiltration of the trench, so the distance to the groundwater has to be considered. Also, the groundwater corridor distance should be considered, if this has possibly changed.
Such changes may have been caused, among other things, by mining impacts. Likewise, care must be taken to ensure that this infiltration is permitted under the local statute and whether there are any contaminated sites on the property. Furthermore, the areas of the yard and the roof have to be calculated, which should be drained and not to forget how much water
the soil absorbs.
For a building with a basement, the distance should be at least six meters, so that damage from waterlogging can be avoided. At least two meters should be kept to the property boundary.
Building a trench infiltration
In practice, nominal diameters of
300 millimeters proven in a pipe infiltration to save the volume can. Washed gravel is recommended as the material for the trench. Here you can choose between the grain sizes 8/16 and 16/32. The gravel pack is surrounded by trench fleece, whereby the chargeable volume of the cavity is between 30 and 35 percent.
The installation of the rigging should take place frost-proof and are still old traffic loads, then the pipe apex should be covered at least half a meter. It is recommended to produce area-wide trench fields when rainwater should seep away from larger areas. The distance between the pipes should not be more than one and a half meters. Without gradient, the gravel pack and the pipes should be installed so that an even distribution of the water can take place. If trench fields are used, then the infiltration pipes are to be connected with each other.
