Build watercourse in the garden and create it

The Content Of The Article:

To a beautiful pond includes a stream or stream. This not only relaxes the landscape but at the same time makes it even more unique. But before the excavation can start, the terrain should also be staked out. Above all, the size of the garden should be included in the planning and how big the stream should be. Therefore, everything has to be staked out so that the stream does not become a waterfall.
Watercourse with steps
Of course, the watercourse must start higher than the pond, so that the water can then easily end here splashing. Then it should also be taken to ensure that the watercourse is not but a torrent and should fall off gently. On a steep terrain, you can simply install several small steps here, which then ensure that the stream flows slowly downwards. All of this must be planned before the first cut of the spade, so that afterwards the necessary calmness comes in through this slowly flowing brook. This also means that the same attachment must be installed on the shore as in a pond. There are coconut mats or stone foil, which already gives off the right look with the little stones.
Stones for the steps
Of course, the individual steps do not have to be fixed with a pond liner, but additionally with a flat stone. So the water can run gently over the step and whirls a bit at the same time. This is then also good for the pond, because here again oxygen enters with the water and thus the water quality is always consistently good. The pond liner can also be interpreted only when stones and other sharp objects were removed. This is easier with finished troughs, which just have to be placed in the wells. The only thing to keep in mind with these troughs is that they lie slightly above each other, so that the water can not run through the cracks. Of course, there must be a slight downward slope, because water always runs down the mountain.
A pump is important
Since the pond and the watercourse is a closed circuit, it is not possible without a corresponding pump. This then ensures that in the watercourse always water can run, but in the rain, this does not have to run. Here it is also important that everything is installed so that no hoses or lines spoil the entire picture. Of course, the pump must be designed so that it is always available. Here a small depression with a stone above it can be the correct camouflage for the pump, since this is not visible and the stone fits to the whole picture. Thus, even in the watercourse occasionally stones are laid, where then the water gently ripples and offers the man a restful sight. Because stones must always be included in the planning, not only because they are important for the design. Rather, the stream is simply natural and the water can be slowed down.
Fill with gravel
Then, when the film or the troughs are designed, then a layer of gravel and stones should be filled. This layer can be a good 10 cm, since plants can be used here as well. The spout of the creek should be inclined slightly upwards, this increase should be about 20 cm. Because then there is also water in the watercourse when the pump is off. At the same time, this creates a small waterfall that underlines the harmony of the water. Through this rippling someone can really relax and maybe watch the neighbors mowing the lawn. Because what makes more joy than relaxing yourself when others have to toil.
Good planning is important in the watercourse
So that it is not after a traveling stream, the slope should not be more than 4 cm per meter. This is extremely important because with less incline, the water does not drain properly and the watercourse tends to become a slow-moving puddle. Of course, the width is an important issue and, above all, what is the power that the pump must deliver. All this is to be considered before the groundbreaking ceremony. Of course, how long the stream should be and this includes the width. Everyone has their own space here, because with a pond liner everyone is independent. Then, when the excavation starts, then always dig out a little bit more so that you can work properly. Above all, however, stones and gravel are still introduced and of course they still need space. For this, you should plan at least 70 cm in width and at least 40 cm in depth. So it is really a watercourse, which then offers everything that reduces the stress.
Curves do not only help with harmony
A watercourse should not just be built like a slide, but some small curves will not only relax the picture.Rather, the barrages and the small curves ensure that it is a gently rippling watercourse and not a torrent. Of course, the barrages can still be planted, just as it is in nature. Since the water flows faster at the barrages, they must be well concealed under the foil. Also stones should be laid here again, so that the step is not washed away. If everything is well covered and the pump connected, then water can be filled. Of course, then still some can be freely designed.
Worth knowing about the own watercourse in the garden
You can quickly create a watercourse in the garden yourself:

  • The basis for this is a hill in the garden, which either already exists or must be created by landfills.
  • You can plant such a hill wonderfully and embed the stream perfectly in it.
  • You can start at the bottom of the belly run, where you dig up a small pond.
  • This is then laid out with foil and can be clad on the sides with stones.
  • Now it is time to find a place for the watercourse pump at this pond, which then carries the water.
  • For this purpose, it makes sense to construct a small wall behind which the pump can be hidden.
  • Waist pumps are available in every pond specialist shop and cost around 300 euros, depending on the desired delivery height.
From the pond you work your way up in a terraced way. Here, a belly run must be dug, which is also designed with foil. Not to forget the water hose and cable for the pump, which you can hide next to the stream under a pebble layer well. The terraced construction lends itself to, as the water remains in the abdominal barrel even when the pump is not switched on and does not drain completely downwards. To make such a stream child safe, deeper places can be filled with gravel and stones. The best thing about a stream is the spring from which the water bubbles out and flows down. You can also quickly build such a source yourself:
  • For this a larger stone is needed, which is pierced with a 10mm stone drill bit.
  • The back-walled side of the hole must then be enlarged so far that a hose coupling fits into it.
  • The sealing is easy with some Teflon sealing tape.
  • Finally, only the hose must be connected and the water can bubble.
Those who do not like it so much, can also buy sources in the garden shop. Here there are fish heads or mammals, from which then the water runs.
