Assemble window correctly - instructions

With the right craftsmanship and sound guidance, it is truly "not rocket science" to properly assemble windows.
Quite the contrary: if, for example, high-quality window foam, a percussion drill, a screwdriver with a flat and a flat head, a spirit level & Co. are at hand, this is already half the battle.
It does not matter if it is the window installation for a newly built building, or if instead an old building should receive a "new face": the basic principle in window installation is the same in every case.
However, it is advantageous if, in addition to the will to succeed, you can also demonstrate a certain degree of intuition in connection with craftsmanship. But also on helping hands, like mounting specialists, you should not refrain if possible.
Zugeschaut, mitgebaut...
Windows or frames are usually factory provided with a protective film. This should be completely removed before installation if possible. Because after the installation of the window, this can indeed prove to be extremely difficult and time consuming.
Following this work, it makes sense to attach the window handle to the casement. In this way the window can be opened and closed early (test-wise). And now with the help of the ready-made slotted screwdriver, the locking pin is pulled out of the frame, whereby each opening of the wing is made possible and this can be pulled out in the course of this.
Danger:
protect the sensitive from possible damage! A soft surface on which the wing can be "dumped" in the meantime, is an additional, practical help.
Now it is time to clean the wall opening and at the same time moisten it a little with water. This contributes to the later to be applied
Mounting foam gets a firmer hold.
The wing can now be lifted into the wall opening, leaving about a two to three centimeters wide "buffer zone" should be left. Installation experts usually advise such a step, so as to ensure in advance that the future acrylic or silicone grouting will last forever.
Apropos: To seal the outside, both special window sealing tapes and silicone can be used. In contrast to silicone, however, acrylic is gas-tight and should therefore only be used to seal the inside of the window.
Worth knowing in this context, moreover, that acrylic should never come into contact with soapy water, otherwise no reliable stability could be guaranteed. (To smooth out silicone, however, use a light soapy water.)
Now it's time to align the window frame. This is best done with the help of the spirit level and special wedges. This perfectionism is in demand, otherwise it is difficult to open and close the window after installation.
The corresponding mounting holes in the frame can already be pre-drilled with the drill; This is followed by screwing in the screws (as far as they will go) with the aid of the percussion drill.
The remaining cavity between frame and masonry is carefully foamed with mounting foam after this step, but it should be taken into account that the foam can expand by about twice its volume. An economical dosage is thus an advantage.
The window frames can now be hung; superfluous foam may be cut off cleanly after about two to three hours. Only then is he completely cured. With acrylic or silicone, the subtleties are then repaired and perfected.
